This is an upgrade to Quite Hot Imposing Ver. 5 from any version of Quite Imposing Plus.
You can download this software right after you purchase it.
Quite Hot Imposing is a stand-alone application (not an Adobe Acrobat plug-in) that makes it easy to integrate automated, high-speed page-imposition operations, variable-data-printing operations, and related operations into a document-production workflow by using hot folders or by using a command-line interface. Built on the rock-solid foundations of the Quite Imposing Plus plug-in and the Adobe PDF Library, Quite Hot Imposing lets you integrate imposition functions into heavy-duty, demanding workflows.
Quite Hot Imposing was designed to be intuitive and easy to use. You don't have to be a programmer to use Quite Hot Imposing!
But if you ARE a programmer, you can use Quite Hot Imposing from the command line to achieve tighter integration with other components of your workflow and to take advantage of Quite Hot Imposing's advanced features.
Quite Hot Imposing does not rely on the Adobe Acrobat software. That is, Adobe Acrobat does not have to be installed on the computer that's running Quite Hot Imposing.
Quite Imposing Plus lets you do things like:
Bookletting
. Do imposition for a booklet (saddle-stitched book).
n-Up.
Arrange pages on a larger sheet.
Step and repeat.
Arrange multiple copies of the same pages on larger sheets. Good for business cards, labels, postcards, etc. Also good for saving money on click fees — print two 8½" x 11" pages on an 11" x 17" sheet.
Sequential numbering.
Add page numbers, Bates numbers, and other kinds of sequential numbers to pages or imposed sheets. Flexible numbering scheme: you can specify increment, you can repeat numbers, you can skip pages. You can also include letters, punctuation marks, and special characters in your numbering scheme.
Tiling.
Split pages into multiple pages, or "tiles."
Modify whitespace at margins.
Add or remove whitespace on some or all edges of page.
Re-position text & graphics on page
. Move the text & graphics on page up, down, left, or right.
Rotate pages
. You can rotate pages to any degree (not just 90-180-270).
Re-order pages.
Reverse page order, user-specified re-ordering, more.
Odd/even page management
. Handle odd and even pages separately.
Insert pages.
Insert blank pages; specify their dimensions. Also insert pages from a PDF file.
Add backgrounds.
Use custom backgrounds for watermarks, printer's marks, color bars, etc,
Add PDF files as graphics.
When you add a PDF file as a graphic, you can manipulate it (scale, rotate, etc.).
Text stamping
. Add arbitrary text. Add variable text such as filename, date and time, page count.
Mask out text & graphics.
Draw a rectangle with your mouse to create a white box that obscures whatever is "underneath" or "behind" the rectangle.
Add printer's marks
. Add crop marks, registration marks, etc.
Automation sequences (macros).
Save a sequence of commands to use again for future impositions.
Manage bleeds.
Define bleeds; impose pages with artwork that overruns the printing edge (designed to be trimmed later).
Handle PDF/X.
Checks the PDF/X status of a PDF file and preserves the PDF/X data (if any) in the imposition. PDF/X-1a, PDF/X-3, PDF/X-4, and PDF/X-5 are supported.
Customers have used the Quite Hot Imposing command line to integrate with industry-standard workflow products, including
Enfocus Switch
Solimar
Xerox FreeFlow
There is direct support for integrating Quite Hot Imposing with the Switch range of workflow-automation products from Enfocus.
MacOS 10.9 or above.
